The Universal Law Of Gratitude
There’s one thing I know for sure: having an attitude of gratitude is the most important mind training you can undertake if you want to attract abundance and prosperity into your life. This is the advice of nearly everyone who’s got anything worthwhile to say on the subject.
What The Experts Have To Say About Having An Attitude Of Gratitude
Wallace D. Wattles, best known for his now famed book, The Science of Getting Rich tells us:
“The riches they receive will be in exact proportion to the definiteness of their vision, the fixity of their purpose, the steadiness of their faith, and the depth of their gratitude.”
And renowned psychologist, Abraham Maslow, writes about gratitude in his book Motivation and Personality. He says:
“Life could be vastly improved if we could count our blessings as self-actualizing people can and do, and if we could retain their constant sense of good fortune and gratitude for it.”
The science of gratitude has also recently become an area of interest in psychology, with the impact of gratitude an increasingly studied subject since 2000. Research has shown that people who express gratitude are happier, experience lower levels of stress and have better relationships.
The Law Of Gratitude
Where is your focus when it comes to money? What you focus on in life grows. When you focus on your problems, they become the center of your life. When you focus on love and abundance, it starts showing up in more places. This is the Law of Gratitude.
Do you hoard money out of fear you’ll run out or do you spend it with enjoyment, buying items that represent true value? Do you associate money with struggle or enjoyment?
If you’re like most people, your energy is probably spent thinking about what you don’t have and how money is in scarce supply. If this is the case, you need to shift your attitude. This can be done by keeping a journal of gratitude.
Having An Attitude Of Gratitude: Keeping A Journal Of Gratitude
A simple way to cultivate a gratitude attitude is to keep a journal of gratitude. Every day write at least five things you are thankful for, making sure that each day you choose five different things. Over time, you will notice that your capacity for joy, love and abundance increases. Oprah Winfrey is a big proponent of this practice and has remarked that this simple abundance exercise helped her to see her world with new eyes.
As you practice this abundance technique, you will notice that you can’t help but feel more positive about yourself as well as life in general. And your relationship and attitude towards money will also improve.
